Lord's Soldier Introduction - May Kingdom Come By: Bliss E-Mail to talk: silvermemoirs@hotmail.com E-Mail to submit: silverfanfiction@hotmail.com Author Notes: Eh? You're reading this? For my sake I hope it doesn't suck too much! ***********************************************************************> ***********************************************************************> During and nearing the end of the Millennium War, in the era of Feud, or the Darkness, as some would say, there was no monarch more revered than the Lord Santhos in the people's head. Even perhaps in the long line and myriad ribbons of time, Lord Santhos would be remembered for his Great Deeds by persons, hundreds of thousands of years in the future. Almost single-handedly, he washed away the evil of war and cleansed hate away with the help of a small army. Uniting millions of people, poor and rich, and preserving the universe's greatest and cherished necessity (peace) for more than 200 years. But of course, as many, this Lord wasn't a saint, nor an intellect. By uniting the commonalty, he again separated them. To nine different lands, renamed 'planets' in general by scientists today (many more if you count the small rocks that encircle the bigger lands), far, far away from one another so that none would be able to make contact as they would now, with their limited and primitive technology then, fearing that too many people in one place would trigger a revolt and rise up against him. That was a choice a fool would make but historians, in their own vague trance of attempting to shape history into the utopia it will never be, resolved to overlook these details and ramble on and on, as a King's jester would, about the divine being that Santhos supposedly was. Now, I am not insinuating that Santhos was dull nor do I say that he was of no use to history. Truly, he was a pleasant man to be around. So obviously there was a great day of mourning the day Santhos passed away. Ladies wore black and white, the customary colors of garment when people decease, and even the most refined gentlemen avowed their sorrows by shedding a rare tear here and there and not attending regular meetings and services. Another matter at hand was, what of ruling? Santhos had not an heir; had never given himself up for a woman, claiming he was too proud of a man and would never approve of a female lying down in his presence, which was another fatal mistake. Now, keep in mind that this is far beyond any reach of ancient occurrences that people of today had even been educated about. Those people had no knowledge of democracy, monarchy, or even depositsm. The only thing that they knew and experienced, but not to their comprehension, was a long period of anarchy. But, humans by nature gradually learn and establish a sense of adaptation to their new surroundings as any ignorant beast would. Each land, or planet, had developed mentally enough to form a central government and to opt for a leader. So in time, slowly but progressively, these separate lands which had been in many years of chaos, had finally begun to enlighten and accept new radical ideas, which were considered alien just a few years ago, and finally started to mold the bureaucracy which are now the basic state for the code of laws; an anchor for the more complex and elaborate legislation of the future times. And so, even after 1000 years later, the people still have knowledge of this Lord Santhos and of the deeds he had done.
