Lord's Soldier Prologue By: Bliss E-Mail to talk: silvermemoirs@hotmail.com E-Mail to submit: silverfanfiction@hotmail.com ***********************************************************************> ***********************************************************************> Once every few hundred years, an eclipse of the sun was said to bring either great devastation or extreme exuberance to the world that it had bestowed its darkness upon. Of course that was an old folk lore, tossed from one world to another. But its true origin was none other than Earth itself, or as one may say, not Earth, literally, but the people residing on Earth. How this old, well-known fable had born; the answer to that query could be searched throughout the lines of people for over a century in the past so none had ever bothered. And did not want to bother with new mysteries that would only lead to disagreement and fighting. Which was understandable considering a short while ago, the monarchs of the planets declared this era of peace the Silver Millennium. Even though accord had been around for more than you and I could count, this century happened to be the time that the rulers settled to take notice. But even though no militaristic actions and plots of attack were stirring on other planets, each civilization was on high alert of any misplaced armed forces from other kingdoms. By now, you should understand that the word 'peace' that solely describes the relationship between the worlds is exclusively an exaggeration and wishful thinking on the monarch's part. All lands never cease to build up forces for the military in case a planet decides to take action and assault another and they force scientists to burn the midnight oil, to strive for new warmongering technology. So how one can call this moment of tension peace is my question. A cease-fire would be considerable. It seems as if every planet was nothing but a sphere of oceans and land with the inhabitants so arrogant and disdainful, they looked down on immigrants from other worlds and labeled them as 'rooks' and 'dirt-eaters'. It seems as if none had made an effort to keep this peace last long. With the exception of the Lunarius Kingdom. A majority call is the Moon Kingdom for the word, 'Lunarius' presumably is difficult to pronouce in place of the peasants' harsh tongue. To maintain lasting serenity, the great monarch of this Moon Kingdom, in which case was a woman, declared that an alliance be formed and those who wish to grace their signature do so. Now, this was not an easy thing to do. First of all, not many were impressed by the sudden declaration. Because the kingdom rotated around a much bigger kingdom called Earth, the Moon Kingdom was considered a primitive. A close to a nothing. Just a rock. Another issue at hand was that this monarch was a woman! You must know that back in history, a woman was considered second class. Even one of royal blood could never live up to be an equivalent of a man. So an idea so extreme from the mouth of a woman; It was laughable. But even through the sneers and the gossip of a crazy and mental woman on the throne of the Moon Kingdom, this brave Queen was defiant of all the chatter and stood up to her very words. This brave demeanor must have impressed and gained the respect of other monarchs, for all of the kingdoms signed, with the exception of the Earth, Saturn, and Pluto. (With Earthlings considered ultraists and not invited to be a part of the peace links; Pluto a planet of waste polluted with swamps and clouded with mists so opaque that none could see their hand, even if it was directly in front of their face, and Saturn; a ghost planet that was rumored to aver a messiah that represented the end of all life, so none chose to bother with the lost planet, were chosen not to sign, for there was no gain for the Moon Kingdom nor peace that the Queen had hoped to obtain.) And by the Moon Queen, she insisted that each planet give a child of royal blood to train into a guardian and warrior status for her kingdom to ensure this peace treaty. Other monarchs were nevertheless shocked by this declaration. For no person, much less a woman, had the right to demand that sort of recompense from other empires in order to keep a peace agreement that they themselves had signed. Though many sputtered in outrage and the cancellation of the treaty seemed to be within an inch of being void, in the end, the words that flown from the monarch's mouths were nothing more than empty threats as they each sent off their Princesses to the Moon, for Princes were of greater value. Obtaining each of the six planetary Princesses and accommodating each one warmly and with great respect, the Queen appointed each one to their roles that they must serve. Two of the strongest girls were assigned to protect the Moon Kingdom in general. The other four were to be the alternates if the defense wore down from the first two girls. Of course, as you may know, that these young girls were much more than mere soldiers. They were to be guardians, soon, of a much greater purpose. That greater purpose I shall not reveal but you may as well know now of what, or should I say, who it is.
