Four Lovers: Air On a Cosmic String, author's notes! *trumpets blare, and a large fanfare is sounded* I've always wanted to do that. *g* Welcome, once again, to my author's notes. I usually write these afterwards just for the fun of it, or to reveal upcoming info, but in this case, it seems rather necessary. First of all, ANNOUNCEMENT: I changed my homepage subdirectory for the LAST time. It is now "http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Gallery/8281/anime/anidex.html". Though, if I really was smart, I'd give you the index page to go off of, since that's always current...but oh well. This shouldn't change again! And now, to discuss "air..." It is probably one of the longest and hardest fics I have ever written, though sometimes it flowed SO smoothly. I did not kid you in that "Cast Meeting"--I was nervous about this 'fic. When people yell, I tend to cringe, and flaming is yelling at you through the keyboard. So, I want to avoid it as much as possible. Which is why "Cast Meeting" exists; it's a cushion of the sort. And speaking of being long....I wrote the last of the story using only up to a half cut of part nine, and that whole file is 111 pages long. And that's only the last four and a half parts. So this story is actually a NOVEL, really. I'd also like to say I NEVER intended to bring Priam back. Originally, the Trio were the main villians; that's what it says in my ideas file under this same title. The weird thing about this series is that I came up with the titles right off the top of my head; as soon as I determined I was going to write the series, I was a woman posessed. However, somewhere in the process of writing scenes of my outline (my first one doesn't include Priam), I decided to add both Priam and Sailor Pluto. Priam's name is actually a mistake; it SHOULD be Paris, from Greek mythology, the man who kidnapped Helen of Troy...who was already married. But oh well...both fit. And yes, he IS really DEAD at the end of this, and I have no intentions of resurrecting his carcess for anything else. The title itself comes, actually, from me reading a Paula Graves (x-cellent XF 'fic person) story, and one of her chapters was titled "Air For a G String", which, again, is a Bach tune played a lot at weddings. I twisted it in my head and came up with this, which I remember NOT liking a lot, but actually seems to fit now. Really. *g* Hrm, what else? Well, there's the addition of Wesley. He didn't come in when I added Pluto and Priam, though I did know that I wanted to give Pluto the love interest she DARN WELL DESERVED. I believe I selected him, once again, in an ephinany of thought, and he fits fairly well in his alternate dimension form. If I was to stick the actual Wes Crusher in here, it probably wouldn't do didly; this way, though, they mesh. And if you check the manga and compare their interests, they are startingly similiar, both dealing with advanced forms of physics. Food for thought. You know, I should eventually get around to talking about the infamous part 14. Yes, it IS true; the Senshi no longer have their powers. The Gens have theirs, though they aren't as strong as they could be; Pluto and Wesley have been altered slightly by their experience; Darien and Serena have been psi-shocked into coma. And I got quite a bit of mail cursing my parentage (well, almost) for this ending. The truth is, I never set out for anyone to have anything happen to them. Those changes came with the outline, and with me re-reading some of the manga. First came the comatose state of Serena and Darien, and then the whole Pluto-Wesley thing (which I am still puzzling over--where did IT come from?), and then the Senshi losing their abilities. Why? Well, the Serena- Darien bit is needed for "Finale" and the sequel; the Senshi thing is also for the sequel. (Note: I suggest checking AN's for "Stranded," which will give clues to what that story maybe about, as well as my page.) In the end, I decided it was probably best to wind this up on a tragedy. After all, the SERIES itself hasn't ended yet, and these are really supposed to be interconnected stories. Other notes: *I realized this story was going to be a success when I pulled a mistake I only did with "Stranded": I accidently posted a piece of the next part with the previous completed part. *Around part five, I saw all three Sailor Moon movies. Wahoo! So I punned a lot from them, ie the whole forget-me-not thing, what Mina says to Artemis when he and Luna broke up, and more. *I never chanced to count up how many songs I used in all fifteen parts, but I believe the number approaches thirty, and spans nearly all genres, from choral to heavy rock. Thank you any and all who contributed--really, there are a lot of times I was LOST. I think that is it. If there are any items I failed to address here, feel free to mail me. I enjoy mail, and I enjoy any questions--just ask Jade. She has called me on more little mistakes here than anyone, and I appreciate it LOTS. Arigato again, Jade! "Finale in White" is my next story, and it is probably going to be my worst. Just a warning! *g* Ja ne, ninx
