Just a little explanation. Hope ya enjoy. NINX PS: All disclaimers apply. Interlude Setting the Stage.... The dark haired, dark eyed man in nondescript clothing walked with a long stride down the hall, mechanically moving, for his mind was resisting his heart with every step. He knew--HE KNEW--that what he had to do was right, but he hated himself for every moment. he heart screamed at him. his mind replied. his heart cried, passionately emphasizing the words. he mind replied harshly, His heart ceased arguing at the moment, for he arrived at the doorway he sought. "Come in, and hurry!" came the voice before he could even knock. Shaken but not overly surprised, he opened and stepped in. The normally quiet and clean room was in somewhat of a disarray, with books, paper, maps, jars, small sticks of fragrent incense, plants hung upside down to dry, big and little bottles of oil, clothes, personal effects, and more hodgepodge scattered around the room. The people he was looking for, the Seers of Red and Blue, stood in the midst of it all, one packing while the other checked off a long list. "I don't know why we just can't leave, Ira," said one to the other, his masculine voice muffled by his red hood. "Don't call me that, GAL! And besides, we have to clean up, otherwise they'll find...something...and trace it to us," she replied, her normally unflappable voice in a panic. "You two leaving as well?" he asked. "We have to. We can't be here when SHE comes, otherwise destiny will shift, and the end result may not be the same," replied the Red. "But why..." "Let's just say that I can't be here," he replied. "It's...it's along the same lines. What I want to know is if..." "You could hitch a ride?" the Blue asked, her hands moving in a blur as she packed up. "Sure...to where, though?" His eyes saddened, and he almost backed down then. He'd been hoping he wouldn't have to leave...her, after all they'd been through, after so much time...but they'd said yes, and it was final. "It doesn't matter. I just need...to leave..." Blue looked from underneath her hood, her blue eyes decloaked and shining. "I'm sorry. I know you love her, and she loves you--very much." Red gave him a glance. "She doesn't know, does she? It's not wise to upset the daughters of Cronus, you know. They have a way of finding you." He shook his head. "She won't remember me. It's part of my....charm...to be able to disappear without a trace." Red chuckled, and Blue shot him a look. "Well, now that you're going, why don't you help us pack?" Blue said. "The faster we pack, the faster we leave--and the less time you spend pondering reconsideration." He pitched in, and soon they were finished. As they stood in the center, as Blue took his hand and Red activated the glowing green pen, tears streamed down his face. And when the room around them began to warp, he managed to whisper "Goodbye, my lovely Set..." ...but then he was gone.
