Character Notes A tale of warriors, guardians, magic...and love. Meet the characters who have made the legend come to life... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Senshi -- Protectors of Serenity, the Moon Princess Author's note: most of the characterization is from the manga, if you will notice, especially in the cases of Ami and Rei. Ami in the manga is not so much the sweet and shy type as she is in the anime--well, she's still that, but she does have an "authorative" side to her which surfaces once in a while. And Rei is not the exploding bag of fury in the manga as she is in the anime--she is, in fact, cold and aloof (at least on the surface), and despite her immense popularity in school, she has trouble befriending anyone. -Mizuno Ami, Princess of Mercury, Senshi of Ice Usually shy, demure and soft-spoken (unless in an argumentative mood) to people, except her friends, yet possesses a very sharp mind. Brilliant. Intelligent. The strategist of the group. Can be assertive, and even bossy when she wants to. -Hino Rei, Princess of Mars, Senshi of Fire Beautiful, mysterious, quiet and aloof, yet actually fiery, and proud. She sees and senses what others cannot. Doesn't deal well with men. She may seem cold sometimes, but her emotions actually run very deep, which can be a surprise to anyone who doesn't know her well enough. -Kino Makoto, Princess of Jupiter, Senshi of Earth Strong and willfull as she looks. Has a very quick temper and can be impulsive. However tough she may seem, she actually has a soft heart and a very feminine soul. She is quite good with children, and at times acts motherly even with her friends. Perceptive, protective and caring. -Aino Minako, Princess of Venus, Senshi of Love Leader of the Senshi. Probably the only one who can easily get along with people. She may appear impulsive and careless because of her cheerful and happy-go-lucky attitude, but she knows her duties as a leader and senshi. She is no exception to insecurities, though. The Generals -- Guardians of Endymion, Prince of Earth Author's notes: this was a hard one. I characterized the generals according to how I perceived Takeuchi's art. Most of the time, the only generals she drew with a smile were Zoicite and Jadeite, even in SD form. So I guess that meant they were the more "jovial" ones (if you could even call them that). Also, Jadeite in the manga had shown at least some emotion regarding the beautiful Rei Hino. In Takeuchi's SD cartoons, she drew both Nephrite and Kunzite frowning, so I assumed these latter two were the more jaded ones. In the anime, Kunzite was usually the cold, stoic one, so I did that as well. Nephrite was a bit like that, too, in the anime, but was also shown later on that he was indeed, capable of a warm emotion... -General Jadeite, Far Eastern Command Officer He is the one assigned to the quiet and aloof Rei. Usually good-natured and honest, but can also be distant and indifferent to anything or anyone which/who does not hold his interest. He is also very determined and stubborn--once he sets his mind on something, he'll do it. -General Nephrite, Far Western Command Officer He is the one assigned to the spirited Makoto, much to the latter's dismay. He often masks his feelings well. But he has a sharp tongue--often sarcastic and blunt with his remarks. He is quick-footed, despite his strength and brawn. -General Zoicite, Far Southern Command Officer The general who is just as brilliant as his charge. Quite a match for the blue-haired genius, Ami. A charming, silver-tongued rake, to be sure, and devilishly handsome, too...perhaps justifies his reason for that tiny spark of vanity... -General Kunzite, Far Northern Command Officer He is assigned to Minako, the woman who seems to be his total opposite. Can seem intimidating because of his unnerving silence, and his stoic countenance. As the highest-ranking general, he is second-in-command to Endymion himself, and is dead serious about his duties. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This story was written by Spatula Gurl.
